Yacht management software covers different jobs: engine-hour maintenance, crew certificates, expense approvals, charter accounting and fleet operations. This comparison covers 11 products, their published prices, platforms, offline support and the vessels they are built for.
Disclosure: HelmOps publishes this article and is one of the 11 products. We say where a competitor is the better fit, and we separate published facts from what we could not verify. Every fact below was checked on the vendor's own site or app store listing on 14 October 2026.
Quick verdict by situation
- Superyacht or fleet that needs audited compliance: DeepBlue. Its planned maintenance system holds DNV type approval and a Lloyd's Register software assessment, with ISM/ISPS modules alongside.
- Established superyacht technical department: IDEA Yacht. Long-running suite with an onboard install that works without a connection.
- Engineering-led maintenance with reliable connectivity: Seahub. Service scheduling, certificate renewals and ISM/SMS, but no finance module and an online-only app.
- Finance, APA and FX payments come first: Voly. Accounting and APA management are its core.
- Bareboat or charter fleet turnarounds: Floatist. Check-in, guest app, booking site and multi-warehouse inventory.
- Free start, or Spanish, Portuguese or French crews: OwlMar. A free plan for two vessels and four interface languages.
- Captain-run private or charter yacht that works offline, in English or Turkish: HelmOps. Maintenance by engine hours, crew certificates and rest hours, expenses and voyages in one app, with a 30-day trial and no card.

The 11 products
DeepBlue
Monaco-based DeepBlue covers single yachts to fleets through modular packages sold by quote, with unlimited seats. Its planned maintenance system received DNV type approval in November 2025 and a Lloyd's Register Software Conformity Assessment in May 2026. It also covers ISM/ISPS compliance, MLC rest hours through timesheets, accounting, budgets, multi-currency and, in its Charter package, APA. Offline use needs the paid SYNC add-on. Choose it when independently assessed technical management matters most; the lack of a public price or trial makes early cost comparison harder.
IDEA Yacht
Germany-based IDEA Yacht is a long-running superyacht and fleet suite. IDEA GT, for motor yachts under 400GT and sailing yachts under 100GT, is offered at €9,900 for the first year as a limited offer, then €1,260 a year. IDEA YACHT is quote only, and IDEA FLEET is free for up to five IDEA vessels. It records hour-counter readings, hours of rest and finances, and an onboard install works without a connection. Its AI assistant, CLIVE, is in beta with full release planned for the end of November 2026.
Seahub
Seahub is a maintenance system built by engineers for superyacht and commercial marine use. It shows days or hours to the next service and covers certificate renewals, hours of rest and ISM/SMS. There is no expense module, and its App Store notes say the app works online only. Prices are not published on its site. Choose it when engineering maintenance is the whole job and the vessel has dependable connectivity.
Yachtbooks
Turkey-based Yachtbooks starts from finance: budgets, OCR receipts, approvals, open banking and multi-currency, plus maintenance, crew certificates with expiry warnings, and ISM checklists, drills and incidents. The interface defaults to Turkish, with English available. It runs on the web and as a mobile web app, without native apps, and offline use is not mentioned. Pricing is not public; there is a 14-day trial without a card and no free plan. Trustpilot shows 4.3 from 9 reviews.
OwlMar
OwlMar, called YachtWyse until 7 June 2026, serves owner-operators through to superyachts over 40m. Skipper is free for two vessels; Captain is $99 per vessel per month, Charter $299 for three vessels and Fleet $999 for five, with 20% off annually. Paid trials last 14 days and need a card. It offers offline auto-sync, maintenance by calendar and engine hours, STCW certificates, MLC 2006 rest hours, OCR receipts, per-charter profit and loss, APA, a branded guest portal and an AI assistant, Wyse-I, in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.
Seazone
Israel-based Seazone combines browser-based yacht management with a crew recruitment marketplace. Basic is free; Pro is €45 and Bundle €80 a month for seven users on annual billing for boats up to 17m, with different prices for larger boats. A 30-day trial needs no card. It covers document expiry alerts, receipts, budgets and charter features, and says it is not accounting software. It is English only, with no native app found and no offline mode mentioned.
YachtWave
YachtWave is a maintenance app for owners through to fleets. Personal is free for three boats; Pro is $39 and Ultimate $49 per boat per month, with a 15-day trial. It schedules maintenance by engine hours, reads receipts with AI on Pro and above, and includes an AI Mechanic assistant. It offers 14 interface languages, including Turkish, on web, iOS and Android, and holds a 4.8 App Store rating from 165 ratings. Its own pages disagree about offline use, so test that directly.
Voly
UK-based Voly started in finance and has expanded into crew, technical and compliance. Accounting, APA management and FX payments remain its core, and it records hours of rest. It runs on the web with iOS and Android finance apps; offline use is not stated and pricing is by quote. For a management company whose main problem is financial control across currencies, Voly is a more relevant first call than a maintenance-led app. Ask for a demonstration of its technical and crew workflows too.
Quartermaster
Quartermaster is a simple app for small owners and captains. Plans are $2.99 (Owner), $5.99 (Captain) and $29.99 (Fleet) per month, with cheaper yearly options. A 30-day trial needs no card. It sends scheduled maintenance alerts and works offline in its mobile app on web, iOS and Android. It has no crew certificate or rest-hour tracking, and its expense side is limited to receipt storage, which suits an owner who only needs maintenance reminders.
Floatist
Floatist is built for charter fleet operations: guest check-in, a guest app, a booking site, engine-hour tracking and inventory across several warehouses. It is sold as a quote-only annual licence with month-long trials, runs as a mobile web app, and supports 14 languages including Turkish. Trustpilot shows 4.5 from 15 reviews. Offline use is not stated. It fits charter operators whose day is arrivals, bookings and provisioning rather than formal technical compliance.
HelmOps
HelmOps, the publisher of this article, is based in İzmir, Türkiye, and serves private and charter yachts from captain-run boats to small fleets. Solo Captain is $79, Professional $99 and Enterprise $249 per month, 20% less on annual billing; see the pricing page. The 30-day trial needs no card. It works offline and syncs on reconnect, schedules maintenance by engine running hours, tracks crew certificate expiry and MLC rest hours, and handles expenses with receipt scanning, a vessel cash ledger and approvals, plus trips, charters, guest portals and a logbook. Its assistant, Atlas, logs expenses, tasks and hour meter readings from a chat message. Limits: no Android store app (Android crews use the web app) and no reviews on review sites yet.
How we checked
We read each vendor's own website and app store listings on 14 October 2026 and recorded published prices, trials, platforms, offline claims and modules. Ratings appear only where a review site shows them, with the review count.
We did not run all 11 products ourselves, and we did not verify sync reliability, support quality, implementation cost, security practices or data export. Where a vendor does not publish something, we say so; that does not prove the feature is missing. Prices and release dates change, so get written confirmation before you buy. The per-product comparisons in our comparison hub go deeper on individual pairs.
How to run a 2-week trial
Use the same vessel data and the same scenarios in every product you shortlist.
- Days 1–2, airplane mode: enter a maintenance task, an expense and a log entry with no connection, then reconnect and check that everything arrived intact.
- Days 3–4, engine hours: set a service interval from real hour meter readings, update the meter and watch how due and overdue work appears.
- Days 5–6, crew certificates: add a certificate that expires soon and check who gets alerted and when.
- Days 7–9, expense approval: upload a real receipt, categorise it, send it for approval and see where it lands in the vessel's finances.
- Days 10–11, audit history: change a maintenance record or an approval and ask for a readable history of what changed, when and by whom.
- Days 12–14, data export: export maintenance, expense, crew and vessel records and open them outside the product.
Some products deliberately leave out finance, crew or compliance. Mark those tests "not applicable" rather than counting them against the product.
Which one should you choose?
No product fits every yacht. DeepBlue and IDEA Yacht deserve a look for established technical management and fleet compliance; Seahub for engineering-only maintenance; Voly and Yachtbooks when finance is the starting point; Floatist for charter fleets; Quartermaster for small owners who want reminders and little else. OwlMar and YachtWave publish free tiers and offer the widest language choice.
HelmOps is one option for captains and smaller operations that want maintenance, crew records, expenses and voyages in one place with offline access. It has no independent reviews yet, which you can weigh against testing it with your own vessel data. The deciding question for any of them is whether it handles your real work when the connection drops, a service comes due or an expense needs approval.
